Overview
Our organization seeks qualified, licensed General Contractors (GCs) to provide home modification services under the Older Adults Home Modification Program (OAHMP), a HUD-funded initiative designed to enhance safety, accessibility, and independence for seniors (ages 62+) in Miami-Dade County.
The program will fund preventative, non-medical modifications for approximately 240 homes over three years (avg. 6–7 homes/month). Selected contractors will execute work orders based on evaluations by our interdisciplinary team while adhering to scope, timeline, and budgetary guidelines.
Scope of Work
Selected GCs will:
- Perform modifications per the program’s predefined scope (“What We Do” document).
- Complete each home within 8 weeks of work order issuance.
- Obtain and source materials from local suppliers.
- Adhere to Florida CILB licensing standards and program quality controls.
- Prioritize hiring local, low-income labor (partner agencies may assist recruitment).
- Coordinate with the Program Manager (PM) to ensure compliance and client satisfaction.
Work outside the approved scope will not be funded under this grant.
Contractor Requirements
To qualify, applicants must demonstrate:
- Experience: Proven track record in residential accessibility modifications and/or HUD/public-funded projects.
- Capacity: Ability to manage 6–7 projects/month with strict deadlines.
- Licensure & Insurance: Valid Florida CILB license and proof of insurance.
- Local Commitment: Miami-Dade-based and minority-owned businesses.
Proposal Submission
Interested GCs must submit:
- Company profile, including relevant experience (e.g., similar projects, HUD compliance).
- Proof of licensure, insurance, and bonding capacity.
Deadline: Proposals must be submitted by May 15th, 2025.
Selection Process
- RFPs will be reviewed competitively.
- Selected GC will join a 3 year contract renewable at every year
- Announcement will be provided on June 1st, 2025
